Last weekend I attended the Acromegaly Community Weekend in Las Vegas. We had a great time! I found out later that my daughter had been quite concerned that it would be a depressing time for me, but it wasn't at all. It was very inspiring and so interesting to talk to so many people who have been where we are. I STRONGLY recommend you start saving in your piggy bank now to plan to go to next year's meeting. The book "Alone in My Universe" was written by several members of that group, and is very enlightening reading. As for the "Faces of Acro," go to the Acromegaly Community website on Facebook and scroll down to view the photos taken at the event. Yes, several people there were friends or family members of the acromegalics. However, there are many people shown in the pictures who are acromegalics and only the VERY experienced "eye" could pick up on it. We don't all look like the medical texts! Some of our doctors might benefit from viewing these pictures.
