I agree with you. Did he tell the ENT about the other symptoms? I would ask him/her to see if they could refer you to the endo...or, in my case, they wrote a letter to my primary care doc saying I needed to be referred. He definitely should have this checked. My throat and tongue are how my disease was finally diagnosed.
Maybe if you approach this from the perspective of being hopeful that a cause may have been found, your husband will be more likely to follow up. If you are too worried, he will worry, and he may deal with it through avoidance. Just a thought...

Your husband needs a referral to an endocrinologist. The test that the endo can do should be able to tell you once and for all whether he has acromegaly.

He needs to see a good Endocronologist and have the correst tests run. Human Growth Hormone and IGF-1, both very important blood tests that can be over looked even by trained Endo's. If these blood tests come back abnormal, the Endo can order a MRI of the brain to check for a pituitary adenoma,a hormone producing tumor could cause Acromegaly or other disorders.
Mine wasn't checked until I went for a second opinion with a more qualified Endo.. He found elevated IGF-1 and elevated HGH. They were probably elevated for at least 10 years when my feet grew wider and two sizes bigger. (Thought it was pregnancy)(was told)...Don't worry, acting can help take the fear out of the un-known.

firstly hugs for you and good on you that you are trying to help..you are seeing changes..he must not wait you can feel ok I did for part of this conditon and then wham five years I had to fight and the damage I have had to repair..tomorrow is another day is an expression I like but in the case of your husband..today is better that tomorrow

If you are worried and it would make you feel at ease, make him see an endo. It might provide answers and if nothing else, it certainly won't hurt anything.

Thanks everyone for your responses. We've scheduled an appointment with an endo. for the end of this month. We're fortunate to have a teaching hospital here with a pituitary center. I'm scared to death, but ready to have some answers. I think the hardest thing for me to deal with right now is the should have, could have, would haves. He has so many symptoms that we just laughed off or ignored. He's always had routine check ups and I always assumed if there was something wrong a dr. would catch it. I'm really beating myself up about this.

Don't beat yourself up about it, nearly everyone here has a story of how their acro was missed and missed again by the medical profession. At least five years in my case from one doctor noticing the signs to anything being done about it... and I am not uncommon in this respect.
