I had an interesting experience last week while vacationing in Calgary, Canada. I was shopping in a little jewelry boutique and had to ask to see their largest rings. In the process, I told them briefly about my acro and its effects. The ladies were quite interested and asked questions. I also told them about our support group and our efforts to make shoe and jewelry salespeople aware of the problem. They wanted to know if I had a business card they could keep. I just briefly wrote the definition and put the Pituitary Foundation and DS on it. I really wished I had something better. Can one of you design a card for us that we can print on the standard Avery business card paper and carry with us? That is not my forte. Any ideas?

another one I had suggested to me was to carry one that listed food allergies to give to waitresses, too.

On the same vein, it is helpful, for us to have a list of meds and surgeries and medical history. I saw a place where we could buy a USB key to keep on our key ring, complete with a medic alert symbol. Those run about $25 but if you watch for a deal you can buy those USB keys for a few dollars and make your own.

If you put I.C. E. on it, emergency personnel are supposed to be trained to look for that symbol now and then you can also include your "In Case of Emergency" contact information.

Brrilliant idea the USB you can get them for a 1.- in the pound shops, [USB 2.0] and just put a sticker on top saying MY HEALTH
And just feed it with what ever info you need/want to put.
Naturaly most laces will have a computer, some will not.
SO how about just typing any info on to a sticker. and keep some with you to give away.

I created a card that I carry in my wallet. I used an Excel spreadsheet, made the type smaller, listed all my meds and dosages, my doctors and their numbers and fax numbers. I bought some of the laminating sheets that are the sticky kind, printed out the card, laminated it and stuck it in my wallet. I can update it when necessary and stuff it back in the wallet. I had to travel for work which is why I decided to do this.

Okay, back to the original question- we need a card that briefly describes the most obvious symptoms of acro and gives where to find info and help. These would be ones we could leave in shoe stores, jewelry stores, and with nail techs, etc.

Such a good idea JeriTX if just one person is found and helped sooner before the acromonster does to much damage alot of us go through different symptoms but the main ones seem to be fingers getting fatter feet larger size teeth spacing.The headaches body aches tireness they the ones that are looked at as just your age your stressed etc but with fingers feet and teeth the biggest one to catch out the sneaky one.I have a friend whose head of a jewellery department do you know until I read your post I had not thought about it but yes a way of helping someone thankyou JeriTX.

Another interesting profession for this info is podologue/pedicure.
The one I consulted before Acro diagnostic told me my feet were growing because I walked too much ! (Can't imagine how big should be marathon man feet).

Great idea. I had the same idea too some time ago and got some cards printed for nothing (except postage).
