This hasn't been a good weekend to say the least. Again with this condition..........it's the highs and lows that can be separated by mere hours that disrupt our lives and wear away at us.... Friday I get my latest lab results in the mail and am over joyed at the new levels.........progress!
Saturday, I get the chest pains that the Doctors seem to think are muscle spasming related, because the heart (although slightly enlarged) checks out okay. Sunday morning more of the same, to the point, I go back to bed around 9:30, only to wake up around noon with numbness and no strength in my left arm and leg, slurred speech and impaired cognitive responses..........something is not right. Wife says I'm going to the ER.

Mini stroke is the term they are using.........the conditions have receded now, the numbness is gone, save the two fingers that have been numb for years due to the carpel, and the strength is getting better, the slurred speech has cleared up and the cognitive issues are improving .........still a slight delay though.............Now I'm on two more meds to add to the pharmacy in the medicine cabinet. And once again the Doctors are perplexed, because all the testing reveled nothing..........EKG good, echo cardio graph good, CAT good, MRI nothing, MRA nothing.......Doctor says it may be a couple of days before the MRI would pick up anything..........I think that's just their way of saying we don't know what caused it, but pretty sure the Acro is the root cause somewhere.......with more time and more testing we might be able to pin it down..............but, the insurance company has our hands tied......... 24 hours, test negative.......send him home. Wait and see what happens.

Insurance.........the double edged sword.........on one side the benefits of our meds.......... on the other the bottom line.

Today wasn't a good day....................maybe tomorrow will be better.
