The softer side of growing up in a dysfunctional home... a sanctuary to feel home with friends and never alone.

As I have said, in my journal, this week was the second anniversary of my father's death. Thursday is was. I did my personal memorial, by myself. It was hard but I hustled on back home afterwards for some privacy.
One reason I had to was because, yet again, my fur-baby needed surgery. We had it done on Monday because, let's face it, a tumor the size of a golfball on a 20 pound dog probably needs to be addressed. He's getting up there and so, I have been afraid to have it done. But this week, I gathered my courage and took him in.It's my job.
It went fine. It was benign. Whew! I guess I thought the distraction would be good this week. Probably not my best idea. It was way too much.
And of course, the situation with my sister came to a head. Again. The details are tedious so I won't elaborate, but suffice it to say that, on my father's anniversary, I was fielding e-mails from her and her real estate agent when I wanted nothing more than to go to bed and suck my thumb. No mention of what day it was from her.
So no painting, no walking, not much of anything and, husband with a stomach bug so not a lot of support there. so, all in all, a pretty awful week. Oh yeah, the weather has been not great either.
Thank heavens for my good friends and their support . I couldn't have gotten though without them. And my family here. Here's hoping for a better weekend. Just a little.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I'm much like you when the layers of grief and challenges pile up - my creative side folds up the tent - I end up trying to distract myself with television which I rarely watch otherwise.
I send BIG hugs your way and lots of love. Take good care of you M, you deserve it!
I hope you had a good Easter weekend... sometimes we need to just shut down and do nothing except spend some time reflecting...
Hope your fur baby is on the mend and returning a smile to your face
Dave
I send love to (((you))) and your (((fur baby.)))
Sometimes these times can seem never ending can't they.
I hope you feel some peace soon.

So Sorry that your week has had to have So Many Let downs and Icky Ness... I know how those Week can be Very Overwhelming... Kept you in my Thoughts & Prayers this last week, because I too know what it is like to Dread those anniversarys... For Me Yesterday was Tough just knowing I wouldn't get to see my Dad... I did go Up to the Graveyard Saturday with my Son, and the day was Beautiful so that was Nice... But Still the Heartache Lingers...
And I Too Can Relate on the Sister thing, Only Mine is a SILaw, but someone that I Considered a Sister for the last 15 years... She started to Stir the Pot as well the day before Easter, and I have not responded, I just need to DETACH...
Holidays are always Tough but when Mixed with Anniversarys makes it that much tougher... Please know that you are thought of, and thay I hope you are Taking Care of You so that you too can Heal... I think for me I worry to much of others and not enough for myself, and that always seems to get me in a Funk... Sick Husbands Don't Help... When Mine is Sick it is Like Nursing my Son... Or Worse... I Will Continue to Send you my Prayers that you Find some Light at the end of All the Dreary... Lifting You Up in Prayers...
Take Care of You :0)
