Excessive secretion of oils from the sebaceous glands accompanies the plugging of the pores with naturally occurring dead skin cells (corneocytes) blocking hair follicles. Don't be afraid I have very oily skin but you STILL have to moisturize! To moisturize you can use olive oil, coconut oil, or even vitamin E. I sometime use the garlic vitamins with the liquids inside over night THIS WORKS WONDERS BUT IT SMELLS HORRIBLE so I don't do it often :)
Do you moisturize both in the morning after the aloe and at night after you cleanse/exfoliate?
My evening regime is pretty solid, and my skin always looks better the next morning but I'd like to try this for my mornings, because I don't feel like my skin is too happy with my basic wash and moisturize.
Somedays I don't wash/moisturize in the morning, because if my skin is feeling very happy, I don't want to mess up whatever magical balance that is.... I don't know if it is bad to do that. But I feel like my nightly routine is soothing whatever stress or damage my skin is getting through out the day without giving it enough of a boost in the morning to protect it from the day in the first place.
Thanks for the water advice too. I'm probably very dehydrated in the mornings, and correcting that might give me a lot of protection that I'm missing.
I drank two huge glasses of cold (refrigerated) filtered water when I woke up, before I started my morning.
1. It was like drinking 2 cups of coffee. INSTANT energy. It was amazing. I've heard that it can boost your metabolism, but you never expect it to be so noticeable.
2. Its now 6 hours later and I can FEEL and SEE the difference in my skin. I can't believe how instantly this helped. My pores are smaller, my spots that I've picked (I know, I know) have gone down in swelling, tenderness, and redness, AND its like HALF as oily as it normally is by this time of the day. SO HAPPY!
I can't wait to get an aloe plant and try that too!
Thank you Msdee84!
