Another great option is the Clarisonic skin care brush. It really deep cleans the skin but does so gently. It also stimulates the skin so that any products you apply will work better.
Also increase your fluid intake. Water really helps keep the skin clearer.

I had a friend tell me about a home remedy and i was like well what the heck it wont kill me to try it. For the past almost month now i have been using a teaspoon of sugar and a tablespoon of honey and olive oil. Youll want to make sure your not allergic though :). For the first week use it everynight to wash your face and then after a week or so start using it a couple times a week. It may sound crazy but it has actually helped me A TON and it makes you skin really soft :)
If you have any questions or would like to talk id love to. Trust me i know how you feel acne is something that i think no one should have to deal with. i wish you the best of luck message me if you need anything!
I know that stressing out isn't good when it comes to acne and what not, so this could be why my skin has been breaking out a lot recently...I have GAD (general anxiety disorder) and this summer it's gotten really bad so I'm always feeling nervous and stressed out.
BUT, I do drink a lot of water. So that's good. And I think I will try that home remedy, sounds nice.
I then tried plenty of OTC creams and even tried Retin-A - that cleared by skin a little, but acne still reigned.
I went to a different dermatologist a few months ago, and was prescribed Tetracycline, asked to scrub my face with a washcloth daily with Acne Aid soap, and I added Retin-A to the combo. It aggravated my acne condition, and big red spots started to appear all over my face.
My pharmacist then told me that the right skincare can go a long way in curing acne. She recommended me some products to use, and although my skin is not silky smooth (small bumps still appear from time to time), my acne condition has definitely been better now.
I've also been told that soy has properties good for acne. You can do some research on it.
When my acne got worse earlier this year, I tried going on birth control. I'm now on Yaz, but it only makes my acne worse. I have to take it anyway because I have PCOS.
Good luck in your battle with acne! We're all here if you need a listening ear. We're all in the same boat as you are.
P/s: I'm a BIG theatre enthusiast too. I'm a theatre actor in Malaysia. And I love Glee too :).
Cheers!
I'm now using St. Ives acne scrub, only been using it for two days so I can't really tell if it's working. It makes my skin feel soft after I use it, so I like that about it.
I'm going back to the dermatologist this month, so I'll see what she has to say about my acne this time.
Oh and by the way, that's awesome that you're a theatre actor. :) I'm in drama at my high school and I love it.
it varies frm person to person ya know.. worth a shot! :)
