To answer your question...I use boat cushions, I sit on one - to see over the dash, and put the other one behind my back - to reach the wheel. Depending on how close she sits to the wheel, you may need to have the airbag disabled, although there is a process (dmv) you may need to go thru (I don't know the process, my dad took care of it for me).

Also, you may want to put something in front of the seat so she can put her feet down, instead having her legs hang off the front of the seat. Secure it so that it doesn't move when the car moves.
