I know its tough and so hard especially when you are worried about your job, but the most important thing right now is him! He is luck it wasnt something more serious like his neck or back, that could have permently put him out of work or disabled him.
We work hard and save our sick time for incidents like this. So if he has vacation or sick leave, just try and remind him that , that is what its for. And that he will have a job to come back to . The best thing he can do is to just keep in touch with his boss, weekly and let them know how he is progressing or if there is anything maybe he can do low stress in the meantime, if he is cutting it close on vacation days, at home, like paper-work, or phone calls?
As stressful as it is, even if he wants to jump up and get back to work today , just to ensure he doesnt loose his job.. he physically cant, and no one would blame him for that. So when he heals and is able to work, if his job is an issue, worst case senario, he can find a new one. And while he is laying in bed, he has time to look through the newspaper for new ones.. not life or death.
I think the biggest mistake ppl make is over using pain meds, and over doing it, not relizing how bad their pain is, b/c the meds take that away. So they go moving furniture around with a sprained neck or broken femur not relizing how badly it actuly hurts.
My best to you and your husband. the most imporant thing is him right now. Try and keep reminding him that!! I know sometimes men are hard to keep off their feet and just rest!
I will see how he is today when I go visit him later today.
Again thanks for responding. Have a nice day.
