I am 51 and have been back to wearing pads at night for over a year because of my nightly bedwetting and now also wear them during the day to cope with my increasing daytime incontinence. It was a shock at first but I have now got used to wearing protection all the time. How do others feel?

I'm a 48yr old guy and have been suffering with bed wetting for 6 months now. It's not the first time this has happened but this is by far the longest.
I now wear a nappy every night which allows me to get a good nights sleep but I'm so worried this will continue to daytime issues as well.
At the moment I don't need protection during the day but am getting 'spots' on my underwear and concerned my paranoia will become a self fulfilling prophecy. I don't want to begin wearing anything during the day for that reason.
Your post seems to reflect similar circumstances to myself. May I ask how your bed wetting started, and how it progressed into daytime incontinence?
Thank you.
During my childhood I suffered bed wetting on and off and that's continued, although in general much improved, through most of my life and I do I accept this is part of my life as I've grown up with it. When I have suffered bouts of it lasting several weeks (rather than the odd day now and then) is when I've been struggling with stress or anxiety and that is what the bedwetting has been associated with - stress.
I am struggling with stress again, but the bed wetting this time has been going on for months with very few dry nights. For the first time I am regularly using protection and feel dependent on it which I worry will keep me in them, and add the slight damp spots I have on my underwear during the day is worrying me it may increase into daytime issues as well.
It is nice having read these posts to have diabetes discounted and will try to stop worrying so much as I know it can become a self fulfilled prophecy, but just talking with others with similar problems really does help and realise I'm not the only one with this.
Thank you again for taking the time to reply to me.
