The pressures of sex from peers, the media and culture can be overwhelming, but you are in total control of your body and celibacy is a choice that many are making. Find sanctuary with people who are choosing to abstain without fear of judgment.
1. no i did not believe in god at the time. i am still not sure if i believe in god, but i do believe in a superior power or being. growing up, my parents always tried to give the best of everything to me and i truely appreciate all that they have done for me. especially financially. they are good parents, although i cant confide in them emotionally for most things. that is the one thing i regret. they have always been there for me physically and financially, but not emotionally. they dont even know that i have been sexually active for the past 3 years. i believe that the question you are asking is why did i loose my virginity? i was going through a lot emotionally at the time and like i said, i could not confide to my parents about it. i had gotten into a different crowd in school at the time too. i was doing drugs and hanging around older people. when i actually lost my virginity it was a one night stand, i was 13 and the guy i was with was 18 at the time. i dont blame my actions on anyone but myself, but i do think that the group of people i was around at the time influenced some of my decisions. i hope that answered your question.
2. like i said, i did not believe in god at the time. i did know that premarital sex was a sin however. but growing up, my mother had told me that sex was normal, and that it was not a sin in her eyes. therefore since i didnt believe in god directly, and i was not forced to view sex as a sin, i saw nothing wrong with engaging in sexual activity. i do want to start over again and be able to abstain from sex. i am not sure about waiting until marriage, but i do want to wait until i find the right person whom i would like to start over with and loose my "virginity" to.
i continued it for the pleasure of it, and because yes i did enjoy the attention i was getting from putting out.
3. yes i would like to find a prince charming, but realistically i dont think i will just yet. what i would like to get out of this is more for myself than anyone else. i just wish to start over and at least be able to respect myself they way i want others to respect me ultimately. i would also hope that others would see me differently, and take me more seriously and respect me. i have found this problem mostly in school and social groups, and i hope that with time people will see that i will change, and that they will respect me for my decision in doing so. i would like to expect acceptance, but primarily from myself not others.. i understand that will come with time.
as for your last question, i would like to say that it was because i was cautious and used protection, but that was not always true. for the most part, it was protected sex. even the guys i was with realize that they do not want children just yet. but i will say that the plan b / morning after pill did come in handy several times. even the local pharmacist got to know me because of it. thankfully i never did get pregnant because i was not totally immature and i took some precautions, and now i dont plan having to worry about becoming pregnant for some time to come.
i hope i answered your questions. if there is anything else you would like to ask, i would be glad to answer. and thank you for asking these questions, for they made me realize some things about myself that i was avoiding or didnt completely realize about myself.
thanks :)
