Abstinence & Celibacy Support Group
The pressures of sex from peers, the media and culture can be overwhelming, but you are in total control of your body and celibacy is a choice that many are making. Find sanctuary with people who are choosing to abstain without fear of judgment.
Don't except anything less. NO Respect, NO relationship.
Some things to keep in mind are, as follows:
1) You do not need to anyone to make you happy. You are whole and complete so anyone you meet should be a pleasant addition to your life not to complete it. God made you, what could he possibly have forgotten to give you to continue your journey. You are already equipped with all that you could possibly need.
2) The best way to stay away from premarital sex is not to get yourself in a comprising position to begin with. Be upfront about your status and goals and those who do not agree will leave, no harm no foul.Never take rejection personally, take it as a compliment, instead. If they do not choose you, they are not for you, God has someone better just for you.
3) You say that sometimes you do not trust yourself. Ask yourself why that is happening in your life, then start learning to trust your judgment more often. Start to listen to how your body reacts to what you perceive are well rehearsed lines.or simply feeling uncomfortable when in the presence of someone knew. That's your intuition or God nudges, as I call them.
4) Trust the process and act as though it does not matter whether you meet the one or not, keep going with your life and maybe someday you'll meet him but hurrying it or wishing it would happen sooner, simply pushes it further from you.
5) Work on yourself, learn to love yourself, and everything will not only make you more attractive but it will keep away anyone who has not the best intentions towards you.
Lastly, the most important of all, truths: Purity is not just about not engaging in sexual "immorality" but it's actually about keep one's mind and heart in life affirming ways. That is to say, remember what St. Paul said about keeping our minds on things of good rapport. Not because they are better or more righteous but because it keeps us peaceful and happier.
Hope this helps,
Wolf
