Ok, so I need a millionaire, an accountant, a shop fitter, etc. Anybody out there? ;)
1) We admitted we were powerless over alcohol
2) â that our lives had become unmanageable.
The unmanageable part can be found on page 52:
"We were having trouble with personal relationships, we couldn't control our emotional natures, we were a prey to misery and depression, we couldn't make a living, we had a feeling of uselessness, we were full of fear, we were unhappy, we couldn't seem to be of real help to other people - was not a basic solution of these bedevilments more important than whether we should see newsreels of lunar flight? Of course it was."
Do you understand WHY you continue to pick up alcohol even when you are physically sober? This is the 'insanity referred to in Step 2. It took me so long to understand this, it really did because I always thought that I was CHOOSING to drink again and had not realised that at certain times we are without defence against the first drink. Do you have a Big Book and a sponsor at all??
Feel free to pm me if I can help further.
