We have probably heard the phrase Keep It Simple thousands of times. It's possible we are mystified by it, even yet. So many things in life have seemed complicated: getting an education, starting a new job, advising children and friends. Not many things can be pursued without careful consideration. When we have approached situations carelessly, we have often blundered badly.
Keeping it simple means doing only the next right thing, not a sequence of fourteen things all at once. To keep something simple means to focus on only a tiny bit of the problem at a time. If we employ a little hindsight, we'll quickly recall how many situations began to improve as we attended to just a portion of them.
God never gives us more than we can handle. How many times have we heard that? It means we'll always be shown the way to handle something little by little, very simply, in exactly the order we need the information. Don't we see this is how it has always been? Why would it change now?
Today I need to listen. I don't need to figure out all my problems at once.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

Yes, Just one day at a time, putting one foot in front of the other, trying to do the next right thing, asking for God's guidence, and then just trying to stay out of his way. This is the easier, softer way.

I posted here sometime ago on this topic around the building of a house frame. If you were to say to me "G8 go and build a house frame" I would look at you as if you had two heads.
If you said to me "G8 go over there and cut those pieces of wood to this length" I could do that. Then if you said to me "Now nail these bits of wood together" then soon the frame would take shape. Under your guidance of giving me simple instruction I would be able to achieve what I was not able to achieve in the beginning.

IMO it has been hi-jacked by lazy-bums and con-artists who use it as a "Get out of jail free card" when confronted on their unwillingness to work the steps.
