To all members,
These are the guidelines that the admin team have put together.
Deletion of posts:-
1) at the request of the person who made the post
2) profanities directed at person or what they have posted
3) posts expressing generally unacceptable opinions eg racism, homophobia, sexism
4) copies of PM's that were not posted with the agreement of both parties
5) insulting, threatening, overly critical posts particularly directed at a person (this does not include general disagreement with what someone has posted, we do not want to stifle discussion)
6) posts which contravene DS rules regarding marketing and making money
Banning of members;-
1) members who persistently make posts that require deletion
2) members who post contravening DS rules regarding marketing and making money
3) members who persistently post subject matter that is in conflict with the message of the group (eg AA is a cult inspired by Satan)
Deletions and banning members will be done with the agreement of two or more members of the admin team. In certain circumstances a message will be deleted without the consent of two members eg if the message contains blatant insults (nicky you are a complete f**king idiot and talk complete b***s**t") and only one admin is around. This is so that offensive posts do not remain on the board for any longer than necessary. Any post deleted by one admin will be reviewed by the others and the decision overturned if necessary.
A standard PM will be sent to the poster of any deleted posts giving the names of the admins who agreed deletion, details of the post that has been deleted and why the post has been deleted.
Before they are deleted post will be copied into a PM by one member of the admin team and sent to the other admins. We will therefore have a record of posts that have been deleted to avoid disagreement about what has been said.
Members have the right of appeal concerning any bans or deleted posts. Please contact one of the admin team and a review will be undertaken. If it is decided that the post was incorrectly deleted the admin team will issue an apology and repost the original post if desired by the member who posted it.
The admin team will not delete their own posts unless they are considered by the other admins to contravene the above guidance.
Any posts made by the admin team that relate to admin matters will be clearly marked as such. All other posts by the admin team are considered to have no more weight than posts by any other member of the group and are not considered to be the voice of the group but rather the personal opinion of the member. For example if I were to post that the steps should be done in 20 minutes this would be my opinion and not considered to be reflective of the group ethos.
The admin members wish to help to keep the group a healthy and respectful place to be. We do not wish to control the content, discussions or opinions of the group. The group should be as self regulating as possible. We are hoping that though we have put these guidelines together we will rarely have to use them.
We would urge members to play their part in making the group what they would like it to be. For example if you do not wish to be part of a group where peoples posts are criticised, don't criticise peoples posts, if you don't want to be part of a group where people are insulted, don't insult people etc. If you wish to challenge someone it may be better to do it by PM so that the group is not affected.
It is important to remember that discussion is healthy and it is ok for us to disagree. If I hold a different viewpoint to someone else it does not necessarily mean that either of us is wrong, However, if we concentrate on sharing our own experience rather than criticising things that others have said the group is a much more pleasant place to be.
We hope these basic guidelines and our intention to regulate the group as little as possible will be considered a reasonable approach to admin.
Many Thanks for reading.
