I loved what I was taught early on - that self esteem comes from esteemable acts. It's not like trying to change your thinking which will then change your actions, like some therapeutic models. The AA model says change your actions, repeat, repeat, repeat, and your thinking will change. It totally worked for me and still does. I have a tiny saying that goes "Time and Program, Time and Program". If I allow both to happen I WILL change.
