To avoid pain at all costs forces us to reject half the lessons life can teach.
If we could remember that every experience we'll ever have is unique and offers us a lesson we will grow from, we'd accept them all with far greater ease. What's there to be afraid of anyway? God is never absent. In fact, God is present during every experience. Remembering this makes us courageous as we walk through the turmoil that interrupts the peaceful times.
Before coming to this program, we feared most of the situations that called to us, and understandably so. We were often trying to do the improbable without the wisdom or the guidance that might have guaranteed success. By taking the Third Step every morning of our lives, as has been suggested, we can positively influence the outcome of every experience we'll have.

learning for his mistakes
The better we get at letting go of old ideas
the less pain we have to endure
as we learn life lessons.
If I'm willing to learn. Learning can be a joyous experience.
As I laugh at my foolishness and go on with a new found knowledge
and understanding. I do feel some pain I'm only human.
but it not like in the beginning That I'm grateful for.

Let us be your medication. But please do it also face to face. Finding that special person or people in your life will be something you will never regret, as you help them also. Without each other we are alone with ourselves and that is a dangerous place to go. It is a loss and any change good or bad feels uncomfortable. When I use to share at meetings for years I would shake. My sponsor said it was just my Higher Power shaking the truth out of me!!
My worst day sober and believe me this last year has been hell, is better than the best day loaded. Never dreamed that would be true but it is. I use to think everyone must have not needed to drink if they felt that way, as I had to drink to feel human, but believe one thing if nothing, you never ever ever have to do this again but one time, one day at a time if you don't give up. Promise!!
