Keeping sober is the most important thing in my life. The most important decision I ever made was to give up drinking. I am convinced that my whole life depends on not taking the 1st drink.
Nothing is as important to me is my own sobriety. Everything I have, my whole life depends on that one thing.

Can i afford to forget this, even for one minute?

Still have today in my wallet.

So true. Without sobriety, I don't have a life. I want to live sober and I'll do anything and everything I can do achieve that. I think this is a good one to have in the wallet. CM xxx

Everything I have, everything I am depends on not taking the first drink and remembering I have a disease which will ruin me and everything important to me. The only other thing is that knowing God is in control and has the power to release me from the enemy, teach me and will divinely guide my destiny if I only allow Him.

I want that in my purse too...good one. Great reminder for when/if my mind goes kerplooey!

Recovery has to be my #1 priority right now without question. I have missed parties & even a baby shower & memorial service where there would be a lot of drinking recently and real friends understand. I had never missed a party in my life, but ya gotta decide what's most important in this deal....for me, it's my sobriety!

Hey gjm, was thinking, it was you that introduced me to Hazelden and I love the daily thoughts. Maybe, for growth, the daily one could be posted here and discussed or just read by those that do not get it??.

I know Hazelden isn't AA approved literature so just an idea :)

Or, maybe the 'thought for the day' out of the Book that is published.

Don't know about copyright and all, I will leave that to you experts lol ;)

I read the daily thought for the day out of "The 24 hour book" for the first 2 years of my sobriety. My group even voted to have a meeting based on that book on Sundays. I think it too was Hazeldon. Saved my bacon more than once!

I have gained so much in sobriety, qualities I didn't even know I was capable of. Why would I want to throw it away for a drink?

I see no reason why we can't post the daily reading from there. Back in 07 we did it here all the time.
As far as it not being approved-So if it helps someone to relate that what we are about.
