Now that we're free from our addictions , living life one day at a time, we can begin to stop making unreasonable demands upon those we love. We can show kindness where we had shown none ; we can take the time and initiative to be thoughtful, considerate and compassionate. Even with the people we dislike, we can at least try to be courteous, at times literally going out of our way to understand and help them. Just for today, will I try to understand, being courteous and respectful with all people with whom I am in contact ?

The Just for Today's became my rehearsal tools in early sobriety. Practicing change in my life, and how I treated others. I like Just for today, I will say 'no you first my friend'.

This topic is right on point for me today. I have been a caregiver to my Mom for 7 years in my home. It is challenging at times because she has never had the opportunity to know about recovery. It becomes a situation sometimes for me of "Would you rather be right, or would you rather be happy?" I have learned that arguing with her only leaves me with an emotional hangover.So, I have learned to restrain my tongue. I try to understand her feelings and frustrations with being sick. I have many prayers to God on this subject. I pray that I might be a Light to her, to be a living practitioner of the Principles of the Program, and that I would be the best daughter I can be. I look at this as an opportunity for growth on all levels.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
