Miracle

And we have ceased fighting anything or anyone --
even alcohol.
For by this time sanity will have returned.
We will seldom be interested in liquor.
If tempted, we recoil from it as from a hot flame.
We react sanely and normally,
and we will find that this has happened automatically.
We will see that our new attitude toward liquor
has been given us without any thought or effort on our part.
It just comes! That is the miracle of it.

I was told early on don't give up 5 minutes before the miracle happens.
Was great advice.

It takes enormous courage to surrender. I had to relinquish expectations of myself and surrender to find my true inner strength. It took a miracle to save me and I'm grateful that I can show my thanks by being an active member of not just the fellowship of AA, but the wider community.

This is one of my favorite parts.....I never thought I would "cease fighting anything or anyone" and I damn sure never expected to "recoil from it as from a hot flame" but yeah, just thinking of my morning vodka makes me wanna throw up and I used to always be in an argument of some sort with several people at any given time. Right now, I have no conflicts with anyone that I am aware of. It's a beautiful thing...and yep! That is the miracle! :)
