What can we do about our resentments? Fruitful experience has shown that the best thing to do is write them down, listing people, institutions or principles which we are angry or resentful.When I write down my resentments and then ask myself why I am resentful ,I've found in most cases my self-esteem, my finances. my ambitions, or my personal or sex relations have been hurt or threatened. We I ever learn the worst thing about resentments is my endless rehearsal(re-feeling) for acts of retribution?

May God help me to find a way to get rid of these resentments. May I give up the hours spent making little playlets, in which I star as the angry man or woman cleverly shouting down the person that has threatened me. Since these drama's are never produced, may I instead list my resentful feelings and look at the why's behind each one.May this be a way of shelving them.

Resentment causes violence: resentment causes illness in non- violent people.

Referring to our list again. Putting out of our minds the wrong doings of others had done., we resolutely look for our own mistakes. Were had we been selfish, dishonest, self-seeking and frightened? Though a situation had not been entirely our fault, we tried to disregard the other person entirely.Where we to blame?The inventory was ours, not the other man's.When we saw our faults we listed them. We placed them before us in black and white. We admitted our wrongs and were willing to set these matters straight.

I could not BELIEVE how much my "grrrrrr" feelings were lessened by writing them down & discussing them with my sponsor. Thoughts of people whose very existence seemed to piss me off for years, suddenly stopped producing the "grrrrrrrrrrrr!!" effect. Something I never thought possible cause these people suck! haha! :)

What an amazing feeling to want to hug the person you've always wanted to strangle, well not literally for some but you get the idea..hee hee..

I couldn't believe how I'd accumulated so many resentments. Unbelievable. Writing them down, and discussing them with my sponsor was a real eye opener. Resentments are self-destructive and destructive for those we resent. They destroy relationships.
