I've been invited by mom's fiance's daughter to her daughter's Baptism in 2 weeks. I am not really sure if I should go. I want to show that I am accepting of my mom's fiance's family, and this basically is a big event. If I do go, I know I can just wear my pentacle under my shirt, so that is no problem.
The baptism will be in the beginning of an hour and a half long service, followed by lunch out picked by the girl. But I haven't set foot inside a church, or even gone to a service since late 2002. And the last several services I did go, I was merely going through the motions of what we were expected to do (before I gained confidence to tell my parents I no longer believed and did not wish to go anymore).
I also don't know how to answer questions that may arise, especially from the newly baptized 7 year old, on MY beliefs. Do I lie? Do I just say I believe different and leave it at that?
On the other hand, I don't want to not go and not support/celebrate in this important event. Because of a recent depression episode, his family already thinks I have something against them, and that is why I haven't joined in their activities lately.

Going doesn't mean you believe as they do, it just means you're showing support. Also if you've had a recent depressive episode I'd say participating in family events is a great idea.
However, thanks to both of you, I had intended to go. But my father was admitted to the hospital just days before, so I had to take care of other things and be with him.
