Is there a lottery where you live? Do you buy lottery tickets?

Yes, and yes!

Yes, and No.

Yes there is, and I buy them occasionally. I've stopped since I won a $20,000 prize a couple months ago. That's pretty much the only lucky thing that's happened to me in a LONG time.

I rarely buy lottery tickets because I consider the odds of winning to be close to zero. I have bought some scratch-off lottery tickets here in California, maybe about $20 worth of $1 tickets, in the entire roughly twenty years I have lived here. I have heard it said that you can't win if you don't play, but I say to myself, you can't lose if you don't play, either!

Yes, and yes sometimes I get a ticket for $2:00.

I think it would be interesting, and maybe fun, to get together a group of people and put our money together to buy several tickets, and then split any winnings. I think they call this a lottery pool. Who knows, maybe I will have a job someday where I can do this.

Lottery: A voluntary tax paid by the stupid.

Lottery tickets are just harmless fun for most people; however, if a somebody finds him or herself spending money on lottery tickets when that money should be going toward rent, food, medications, etc, then it may be time to stop buying lottery tickets altogether.

I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...
