What religion or denomination is it? Do you go just on Sundays, or do you go other days of the week? Do you belong to any committees or other groups within your church, such as a senior outreach or fundraising committee? What kinds of things does your church do in the wider community? How did you join; was it by invitation from a friend or family member, did you invite yourself by just walking in one day, or were you born into your religion?
Remember, every person must get to Heaven in their own way, so please let's have no one say they don't like someone else's choice of religion or denomination in this discussion. Let's leave judgment up to You-Know-Who.

88FWhat I do like is early morning clouds and then they disappear and the sun comes out. That was it's cooler in the morning. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...

Does anyone attend a church?
My original church is bigger and has a lot of events and volunteers. I helped volunteer for a few things, went to some bible studies, and had the nerve to sit in on some of the college Sunday school classes. I was also able to go to a women's self defense course, which was amazing.
The one I go to now is a lot smaller, and I'm the youngest in our service without being in the children's (baby up to high school senior) Sunday school; I might even be the youngest in both services. I used to volunteer regularly with my grandma before I started working, but now it's only when I'm able. The pastor is wonderful, and is one of the reasons why I'm hesitant to visit other churches in the area. It's still a pretty small church, so it can't afford to do too many things, but they do try to connect with the community by holding regular Relay for Life events and fall festivals.
I know that in my surroundings, it's the people who don't attend a church who are suffering the most, using illegal drugs and beer and odd behavior to numb themselves. Being a member of a church and attending regularly, once or twice a week, would help them immensely. But they prefer nasty chemicals to healthy socialization.
I'm in the process of finding a church that's right for me. I have attended two churches this past week, both of which were not for me. However, I will continue with my search. This Sunday I will be attending a Lutheran Church to find out what it's like. Wish me luck.

Now im Lutheran - Beau you would love my pastor he is down to earth he cracks jokes in the middle of his sermon & when my health will let me go I work on my blankets during service & he loves it he always looks over & smiles at me he is just AWESOME so cool - I do a lot to help out I make blankets for youth pastor to take to hospital's etc... we feed the homeless - raise money for youth to go on trips - we do VBS not just for ours but for all kids - we have a preschool - every year do a coat & hat drive - make kits for with like toothbrush toothpaste - snacks - hand warmers etc... & hand them out to homeless that you see along the roads - do a blanket drive - just had our 60th Anniversary of the church this past month trying to remember what else we do so many things oh every year we have a tree up & we always pick a family (we had 5 families this past year) & make homemade or buy gifts for x-mas & this past Nov a family of 5 was out of a home due to a huge fire & we put them up in a hotel & I donated blankets to each one of them that I made... we are normal down to earth people...
I love fellowship with fellow believers.
I will be praying for you to find the right place to worship in Beaumont. Sometimes it takes many visits of churches.
Yes, I do attend church weekly. When I was depressed I felt isolated and didnt go. My mom said that its those times that I need to go the most. Probably true. But when Im depressed I cannot get in touch with my spirituality. Attending regularly helps keep my depression at bay. I love old hymns.
I don't attend church every week, i haven't been for years, not because i don't believe any more, it just felt to me that it wasn't important, i certainly dont feel god has abandoned me cos i dont go, he's still there in the background keeping a close watch. he knows i still need him and think of him and i still believe in him.
I became a Jehovah's witness for six years. They had two believes that I could never accept, but all the rest I loved.
Now I am attending a Catholic Church with the people I am living with, but I do not understand anything they do or why they do it, I go with them so I can hopefully feel the presence of God. I am not allowed to partake in the wine and bread because I am not Catholic.
I don't think any one group has it all right, the teachings.
I feel so lost, I do not know where to go to worship anymore.
Holiday's feel like a sin to me to take part in, and most of them celebrate holidays, yet the Kingdom Hall feels so dead, no holy spirit , present.
I wish I knew where the Lord wants me, I need fellowship and friends, I wish I knew which group is right.
I miss praising the Lord with hymns I grew up with.
I have no problems with religion. I figure, liffe is hard enough, and anything that helps.....helps.
It brought me shame, pain, and anything but peace.
Athiesm for me....brought the most profound peace. My moral code says that all good and bad are up to us......if I want Good in this world....I have to Make it happen. And that's what I do.
We all know inside us what is a kind way to treat someone, and what is a cruel way to treat someone, surely that is all that really matters at the end of the day.
and like I said, it never brought me Peace.
Oh I thought it did. I had thought that I had "found Christ" and all of that stuff.
It's was SOOOO incredibly freeing to give it all up.
WE attended a Pentecostal church.... it was very scary for me for a very
long time. The Pastor told us ...we will go to Hell. It broke my Heart. I
could not understand...I was terrified, we left the church. I never
went back to any other church. God lives in my heart...
