The first known example of "text art" was a depiction of a butterfly, created on a typewriter in 1898, by a woman whose name history does not record.

Remember, you can re-do any text art that you post here if your first attempt doesn't work out as you had hoped it would, and at your request, the initial unsatisfactory picture will be deleted. Just tell me that you want it done.

Does anyone know how to "draw" a butterfly? A bumble-bee? A kitten or puppy? How about a ship, submarine, jet airplane, or tank that someone could send in an email message to a loved one stationed in a far away land? Soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines can receive emails from home. How about a house, a horse, or a hippy - scratch that, no hippies are allowed in the Laughter Club, only hippy jokes - just kidding, we probably have room for a few hippies here! How about a picture of an icecream cone, a rabbit, or a duck?

well it sorta did - i have figured out that the roblem is that these forums only accept certain characters, so if we type a character, for example @ - it might not come up as the same thing.

For example, if we type cant with an apostriphe it turns out like this can't - see, it doesnt come out the same when ou post it, maybe this is why it isnt working.

As far as i can tell, these are the characters that the forums support - @ , _ - ? ; ) ( [ ] / \ # ! $ % & * + = See what we can do with those. also, copying and pasting in from microsoft word works, so long as you dont have formatting turned on in your work, or those characters wont be recognised, hope this helps.
