A Child Abuse Survivors Group Community Group
We survived child abuse, but the pain still remains and so do the other effects which can last a lifetime. We are often unable to find adequate help, and we are seeking answers that can help us understand what happened so that we can go on to lead normal lives. (Please note that this is a group for child abuse survivors only. If you are a professional in the mental health...

I used to have a Comfort Zone
Where I knew I couldn't fail
The same four walls of busy work
Were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things
I'd never done before,
But I stayed inside my Comfort Zone
And paced the same old floor
I claimed to be so busy
With the things inside my zone,
But deep inside I longed for
Something special of my own.
I couldn't let my life go by,
Just watching others win.
I held my breath and stepped outside
And let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength
I'd never felt before,
I kissed my Comfort Zone 'goodbye'
And closed and locked the door.
If you are in a Comfort Zone,
Afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were
At one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise,
Can make your dreams come true.
Greet your future with a smile,
Success is there for you!

when their tears run down their face like rain
Our pet friends who are always there
and seem to materialize out of air
When we felt unloved, abused and scared
Those terrific animals were always there.
My Brother Survivors
We've hidden in the shadows long enough,
Some of us hiding, others acting tough
We try to remember the games we use to play,
But it was all for survival, the rest taken away
We all lost our innocence a long time ago,
It's now time to heal, let our sorrows flow
We're all haunted by the memories of our tragic pasts,
Hoping for Serenity, or a Happiness that will last
As we sit in this circle through thick and thin,
We may start to smile, laugh and grin,
As we start to find that child, somewhere, lost within
But remember my Brothers of what I'm about to say,
There is no such thing as an easier softer way
So let the tears build, the pain let it flow,
Fore finally my Brothers, we are truly about to grow

My People
To the hurt, the beaten up, the scatter brained
To the weird, the dark, the perfectly insane
To the creative, intelligent, underestimated
To the bullied, misunderstood, undeservingly hated
To the ones who tried to love but who were abused
To the one who've done nothing wrong and are now left confused
To the ones who are now fucked up and don't know what to do
To the ones who have had their hearts ripped in two
To the ones who have scars that will never heal with time
I just want you to know that you will soon be fine
Just do whatever makes you happy and helps you survive
I promise you will soon feel alive
To my people
I just want you to know
I love you
I love you
I love you
With all my heart
To my children
I just want you to know
I love you
I love you
I love you
With all my heart
To my brothers and sisters
I just want you to know
I love you
I love you
I love you
With all my heart
I just want you to know that this pain will go away
You will find people who you love you for you one day
The people who've done wrong don't matter at all to you
You'll never have to see them again if you don't want to
You're a person of worth and don't deserve this at all
I hope you don't hurt yourself and hear my call
For if you kill yourself you won't be able to feel
But I know in this moment all this pain seems unreal
For you need to be alive to feel the feeling that you seek
And when you're dead you'd be unable to feel that relief
There's nothing wrong with you, it's ok if you feel this way
You just need more coping resources or to reduce the pain
To my people
I just want you to know
I love you
I love you
I love you
With all my heart
To my children
I just want you to know
I love you
I love you
I love you
With all my heart
To my brothers and sisters
I just want you to know
I love you
I love you
I love you
With all my heart
To all the freaks of the world who don't fit in
I want you to remember that dressing up is not a sin
Remember that you must always act like who you are
No matter how eccentric, strange or bazaar
You're so fucking beautiful and I just want you to see
How fucking amazing your life is going to be
You are who you are for a reason and don't ever forget
That you're not done living your amazing life yet
So to the hurt, the beaten up, the scatter brained
To the weird, the dark, the perfectly insane
We all make mistakes and they're in the past
I just don't want this one to be your last
To my people
I just want you to know
I love you
I love you
I love you
With all my heart
To my children
I just want you to know
I love you
I love you
I love you
With all my heart
To my brothers and sisters
I just want you to know
I love you
I love you
I love you
With all my heart
