My ED and ESIL called and wanted to meet. My husband and I did because we wanted to please our son and also make peace - trying to again save the day.
I really did not want to see her, but I also did not want to procrastinate. I thought let us go and get it over with. I knew full well that she didn't want to be back in with us, but to make another "Camio"
Well, the calls and the meetings are usually only a conduit to break some major news and I was on the alert to realize that it was going to go that way. My ED and ESIL announced they are moving half way across the country so they can do their sports/narcissistic endeavors ( I will spare you the extreme sports boring details).
The reality is that they like to smoke pot and it is legal there and they can never see us or our son when they don't want to. They mentioned cutting our son off from some funds they were filtering his way (they are super rich). Our ED also said she would be part of her niece's life, but that will also be no more and they failed to attend her first birthday this year, in any case.
I do think that drugs could be the culprit, along with our ED's addiction to her husband. I am sad that she has gone this path and I am afraid we will never really have her back in our lives. I don't really want her back the way she is and I had been resigned to that fate.
Family is everything and they have truly missed the boat and don't even know where a safe harbor is.
My faithful family will move on with or without them. Another Sad Sad day!
