"You have nothing....."

So the words from Scandal are haunting me. I emailed them to him tonite that I can't stop thinking about these words:

"You have nothing. You have a piles of secrets and lies and youre calling it love. And in the meantime, youre letting your WHOLE life pass you by while THEY raise children and celebrate anniversaries and grow old together. Youre frozen in time. Youre holding your breath. Youre a statue waiting for something thats NEVER going to happen. Living for stolen moments in hotel lobbies and coat closets. You keep telling yourself it all adds up to something real because in YOUR mind it HAS to but they DONT They wont. They NEVER will because stolen moments arent a life. So you have nothing! You have NO ONE. End it NOW.

Olivia Popes Stolen Moments monologue to Will Caldwell in Boom Goes The Dynamite.

Of course she's upset because she realizes her own affair leaves her putting her life on hold. Something must be seriously wrong with us women for putting our lives on hold. It's weird- my family doesn't even ask anymore about me dating. They haven't met anyone that I dated in years. I haven't dated anyone in years. Not seriously anyway. I go on dates from time to time hoping to find a connection with someone else....because I am not a cheater. I would end it. I've taken "breaks" when I've dated others. How ironic is that....one who enables a cheater doesn't cheat herself. Or do I? I haven't written in this journal for so long. I didn't visit the site for awhile. I read the words of the hurting betrayed looking for something to help me to move on.

Statistically I think women in my situation have low self esteem. I think mine could be better....but I don't think it's that bad. I'm doing well in my career, exercising, bought a place.....those were my goals I spoke of in earlier entries and they're happening. So I'll keep trying to "fix" me and hope something clicks so I can move on? Maybe when I figure it out I'll write a book....under a pseudonym of course. :)

I heard the same quote. I\'m not even a fan of Scandal, but somehow I came across that in February, too. And it really resonated with me. It rings true...
