You guys are rubbing off on me

Trish, Kathi and all my other horse loving friends. I keep watching your journals and messages and as I was hiking the 14.2 miles up and down the mountain, I noticed all the horses going up and down. I was just a little envious the last 2 miles. A friend of mine volunteered to take me on trails around here. Soooo I have a riding lesson tomorrow. I still have the 5k training going on and now I am fitting in riding lessons. Lol. Have I lost my mind? I can't post pics from my phone but as soon as I have time at my computer, I'll post my pics. I did not get to do Table Rock because it was knee-deep in snow. So we did the Upper Lake at Palasaides. It's 13.2 miles from trail head but we were about 1/2 mile further down. I am quite sore. Lots of blisters and I may have lost a toe nail (little one) but I survived!! Cardiovascularly, I felt great because of my running. Used very different muscles though. Hope I can run by Wednesday. That gives me about a week more to train. I'll keep you updated and post pics.

I think you will like the view you see from the back of a horse. I miss the trail rides I would go on in Pa. I haven\'t done that in years. Have fun on your trail ride.

Well Hello Cowgirl drtexdi! Yahoo for you! There is nothing quite like exploring on horseback (provided you have a good trail horse, that is). My black horse has carried me to places I would have never seen if I had to hike. And she seems to enjoy it as much as I do! Your horseback riding will be good \"cross training\" -- you will use a whole \'nother set of muscles when you ride than when you run.
Enjoy! And I can\'t wait to see your pictures!

Yes I finally even changed my profile pic. Planning to do the 5K next week and then the Lower Palisades Lake 2 weeks from tomorrow. The colors will be incredible in 2 weeks.
