Yo Yo
Kinda tired of the ups and downs in my life. Feel like a yo-yo, which makes me dizzy much of the time (figuratively of course ) . One day I get fired up and say I'M TIRED of this and go out for awhile and it's OK, but then the next day back to the low self-motivation. I know I need to get out, make new friends, join new groups, etc. Always finds 'excuses' not to go - (typical HSP trait?). sighhhh......

Well, you are here reaching out so progress is being made.
One step at a time is all we have to take to get where we are going. A rest stop is just a part of the journey.
Sending you good thoughts for a good day.
:-) Patricia
Hmmm. I am like this myself. perhaps it is an HSP trait. It could be a good question to ask in the group.
I can get fired up too or I make myself go out. I have joined groups only for them to fizzle out or I lose interest or I can\'t be bothered to drive to get there...LOL I make excuses not to go...exactly. I am not sure why I get like that. depression? maybe. I was diagnosed with it.
It does take effort to get out there to do social stuff. I can\'t be bothered a lot of the time but then it can get lonely. We can\'t have it both ways.
All I know is Don, I get where you are coming from. Not sure what to suggest really. do you think it could be a mild depression? or do you think it is just the way we are wired. us HSP\'s? I think it would be a good question to post.....
I know I am repeating myself here.....I tend to do that.
We should join a meetup group together, and make each other accountable.
Well, ironically I got up enough motivation to go to a Meetup group tonight. It was a new group about Travel, which I enjoy. It supposedly was a group to share travel stories with others and maybe plan a trip or 2, etc.
WRONG
It was in this lady\'s very nice art studio. We signed in and were greeted by: \"welcome folks, mingle, look at the art work, have some nice refreshments, yada, yada\" Then, 30-40 minutes later she breaks out the chairs and tv......it\'s time for a Travel Club PRESENTATIONNNNNNNN
i.e. another pyramid MLM scheme. ahhggggggggggggggggg
Being the good HSP that I am, I sat there 45 minutes listening politely, squirming in my seat some. Oh, I coulda got up...I about did... but I was having a nice 1on1 conversation with the pretty lady next to me. Besides, it was free wine and snacks so I stayed awhile, 3 glasses awhile. :-)
After it was all over I learned the lady next to me was leaving next week to spend a year with her daughter in Japan... so no chance even of a possible date............sighhhhhhhhh. Oh well, the wine was good.
@Patricia - yes, I keep coming back for the support and encouragement, and it\'s working, albeit more rests than steps..but thank you all.
@NG - I always thought an HSP trait was, for some of us, making excuses. Not reasons... EXCUSES, lame excuses, e.g. there will be lots of traffic, parking will be a pain, there will be too many people, too much noise, etc. I went 6 months thinking about going to one of the monthly HSP Meetup Group. I finally did go and in my introduction at the meeting I said I came tonight because I ran out of excuses not to. Everyone laughed as they totally related. I went one other time but quit going since it was mostly the coordinator\'s attempt to solicit patients for his counseling practice specializing in HSP. They all seem to have an ulterior motive.....sigghhh
@seashore - sent you a message
OK - another wine and time for bed...........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
