Yield Not To Temptation
Yes, that's a halo around my head.
Only lost 3/4 lb. on the scale, but deserved to lose more. I was very good at resisting temptation this week.
After buying a diet soda, I was left with enough change to contemplate buying a SNACK from the vending machine. Had thoughts of getting those little orange crackers with peanut butter inside. Then I told myself, Judy, think of the sugar, starch, and fat in that pack. WALK AWAY, WOMAN. And I did.
Today I went food shopping. Last night I had the INSANE thought to buy a jar of peanut butter (my worst binge trigger). Happy to report I talked myself out of THAT self-sabotaging, idiotic notion! Reminded myself I would eat the whole jar if I brought it home. Close to 3,000 calories! NO WAY, JOSE.
When I was a teenager (God what a long time ago), we sang this hymn at our youth group. YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION.
Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin, each victory will help you, some other to win..." THIS HAS PROVEN TRUE. I'm strengthening my will power "muscles" and it is getting easier.
It helps if I don't even go in the AISLE where the peanut butter is, or the chocolate, or the bread/bagels. If I don't see it and bring it home, it doesn't tempt me at bedtime.
THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT I'VE RECEIVED FROM YOU.
