yesterdays hearing
Hearing we better than I thought it would. She got 26 months to run concurrent with the already 16 months she got in another county. The judge didn't like it but he had to run them concurrent he really wanted to add the time. God is good. I just pray that she takes the judge's advice and gets rid of her friends and gets and stays clean. so now the wait to get to the prison and through intake. This is all so new and I dont like it!!!!
Oh and today is her 31 birthday. She got caught with heroin (of course it wasn't hers) so she thought she would be spending her birthday in the "hole". whoo hoo they were full. So she on on restriction but can call and even was able to get her commissary because she ordered it before the heroin issue! Funny thing is she never did heroin before it was always perscription pills.

I\'m glad the hearing turned out to be better than you thought!! I have a totally new DISRESPECT for judges dealing with drug cases!! So so frustrating!!

I don\'t think judges actually decide that much. Here anyway, it seems the DA\'s and the lawyers do all the bargaining. It don\'t even matter if they are innocent or guilty, it\'s all about which lawyer makes a better offer, and how they want it done. Then the judge just prounounces sentence based on their recommendations. Cushy job, I\'d say.
