Yesterday
Yesterday @ work, a teacher's aide brought in a loaf of banana bread. I smiled when I saw it and smiled even more as I ate a slice. Jennifer didn't cook alot but one of the things she made as a little girl and through her adult life was banana bread. She would wait until the bananas were "just ripe enough" and oh how I loved to eat it right out of the oven....a little bit of Jennifer yesterday! :)
I felt led to tell Mrs.T(as the kids call her) how much I loved her banana bread and why I enjoyed it so much....she looked @ me with tears in her eyes and said, "you know my 24 y/o son was killed in an auto accident in 2009." I asked her about her son and how she was doing? She said one thing she still cannot do is listen to the radio in her car. She said her son used to tease her as she was driving "dancing" while driving to the radio.....Mrs. T told me that listening to the radio in the car reminds her of what she had and she knows that what she had is no longer and it's just too painful. "my life will forever be changed" - tears in both of our eyes....we connected on a level only "us moms" can.....
Oh, Jennifer, thanks for your banana bread!!!! LOve & miss you more than life itself.
Sending much hugs & love.....Vicki

A beautiful sign Vicki. Hugs
What a heartfelt connection! Thank you, Jennifer, as your mom needed this and you knew. We share the love of banana bread with our children. It was always a huge favorite of Douglas' too and now I will think of Jennifer and of you when I make it. Lots of bananas here on the island and we even have a banana tree. :)
Your journal made me smile and and such a gift it was for Mrs. T and for you to connect.
Love from another banana bread lover to Jennifer and to you.
XO Joanie
You are uplifted by Mrs. T and the connection helped her too. What a blessing in the mist of our horror. Jennifer's connection is a wonderful kiss from her. I stumble along each day wondering how this can really be true. Yet I am so so very grateful for the life of my girls. I love and miss them so much. Peace, Kathy
Vicki, so glad you enjoyed a sweet memory of Jennifer and her banana bread.
I'm so sorry Mrs. T knows our sadness. Eddie died in 2009 too and how well all of us know that from the moment our child left for Heaven that our life is indeed changed. But I am sure it was good to share feelings with each other. You made her feel comfortable enough to talk about her son and that is always a gift. Love to you and dearest Jennifer, Linda ♡
I do believe we are here for a reason. I think you were meant to have that banana bread. Another mom knows she is not alone.
Tight hugs, M
