Yes DS!!!!
Hi everyone,
I am so glad that this site is back up and running! I was so angry that it was taking so long.
We went to the beach for a few days and returned yesterday. Steve took his Roush mustang and won first place Our car club went and we took 20 mustangs and won the club award. Steve did really well with the exception of gout that bothered him for a few days. The chemo seems to bring that on often. He will end this cycle on Wednesday.
I have not been able to get on this site to tell you that Steve has been dismissed from pallative care!!! I don't know anyone who has done that! He is a miracle! I also don't know why he is doing so well, just very grateful. Of course he is still having some problems, swelling feet, itching under the skin etc. It is always something with a cancer patient. One crisis after another.
I still miss Becca. We talk about cancer and it's toll on the patient, but never talk about the possibility of it's effect on caregivers. When you love someone it DOES affect you. I have suffered and cried a million tears with Steve over the course of the last 14 years. It has always been us instead of just him. It hurts me when it hurts him. I will always remember Becca and how she fought for Tim. I wonder how he is doing without her??
I send my love and my prayers for each of you,
Wanda

Congratulations to Steve and your entire club!!! So glad y\'all got away and had a good time, Hon.
Yep! We all miss sweet Becca. Still hard to believe she\'s gone.
How fabulous that Steve is doing well enough to be releasted from pallative care. That truly is miraculous! So happy for y\'all!!
Huge Hugs, Ingrid
That is all wonderful news!
I havent been getting alerts but have been able to get on DS.
I soooo know about the caregiving role. It is mentally and physically draining & all those other things that come with it too. I am still stunned by the effects of it. Funny thing, (not really) but when the job was over I didn\'t know what to do.
I am glad you are doing well!

Love to hear good news. You are a very special lady! I can\'t imagine filling the caregiver role for so many years. So many scenarios you never have a clue about until they happen. Like Christy, I remember that lost feeling of not knowing what to do afterward. I went to Wal-mart and just stood in a daze because it was the first time in so long that I wasn\'t having to remember everything, buy all kinds of new treatments, aids, lotions, soap...(list goes on and on). It is definitely a draining role that you fill wonderfully!
Just too awesome about the palliative care dismissal. Happy for you both
Angie
Dearest Wanda - just a miracle about Steve and his dismissal from palliative care. And now you know that it was helpful, and didn\'t mark any kind of ending, hopefully you\'ll never be scared to use them again.
I can so identify with the words above....but won\'t hijack your thread. Only to say, oh Wanda you are so right when you say it\'s always \"us\", never just \"him\". I hope you can breathe a little easier now
all my love
Meriel
Hi Wanda.....well, I\'m glad the site is working for you, but it isn\'t working for me. So, I\'m afraid I\'ll often be late in responding. However, this time, I am so relieved to hear this positive news. The very fact that you and Steve are doing the things you love makes my heart feel so happy. I am praying that this blessing will be with you for a very long time to come. Love, Linda
Wanda, just got back from a trip to have this wonderful news greet me. I am so happy for you both. Mustangs are such a joy to look at. A part of American history and our youth. Ah the days of muscle cars......... I am thrilled that Steve is doing so well. It truly is a miricle. I was down if Florida for a week with friends. We drove thru NC and spent a night there. For the life of me can\'t think of the town. We left from Cleveland and drove for 500 miles. That got us to NC. Beautiful country. Keep up the good work you two. Hugs Jane
Love all you dear friends. Life is precious, please, lets all stay in contact!
