Year number 4
My Dearest Ken,
Year number 4 is starting today, and I miss you more then I could of ever believed.
Such a different spring - haven't planted a seed. Had a terrible, terrible drought last year, not as bad as 88, but just as devastating. But you "always" looked ahead to NEXT year, so that is what I did, and here I am farming another year. Little place did very well, you know what this place did.
I went to lunch with your sisters, your Aunt Millie and Linda and Sherri. Jeff just left, he had been to the cemetery. Pam called, Randi called. They all miss you so.
You have a brand new Grandson - Cole Kenneth DeSplinter. He is beautiful! You would be so proud of Jess, he is a wonderful Father, but then I knew he would be. He just takes after you in so many ways.
Morgan has grown into a young lady that you would be so proud of - you taught her so many, many things, and she misses you everyday.
Life is getting easier for me - do I know what I want to do yet?? Hell no - probably never will. It will just happen. I was doing what I wanted to do, with you by my side. Now without you, it just isn't the same.
I miss you with my whole being, and you will forever be in my heart. I love you Ken
Rhonda

Rhonda,
What a beautiful entry and way to remember Ken at the 4 year mark. Sometimes I just say WOW 4 years...how did I EVER survive for so long? Of course the sharp pain is gone...but the missing them and wishing we had our old lives back...I don\'t imagine that will ever go away because we had such good lives and were so well loved with them. The new Grandchildren and watching the children caring for their children is a beautiful reminder of what great Dads our men were..huh.. I sometimes just sit quietly and watch my Step Sons and remember how in awe I was at what a great Dad my Denny was. He taught them so well and I am seeing that in them a LOT. Denny just had a way with the kids. It is good to see that you still are placing one foot in front of the other and that your life is going on there. I think of you often my friend... Big (((((hugs))))) to you as you move into this year.
