Yeah! Cable is back on today!
Hi everyone! Thank you for all your concern and best wishes. I , my husband and home have servived Gustav! Unfortunaly my hubby's police car lost it's gas tank while chasing a speeder who refused to stop! That's ok, my hubby still got his man when the speeder thought he lost the cops and pulled down a street that my hubby happen to turn down. Well speeder was arrested and hubby got another car. He named his new car stinky! Normaly he doesn't name his car but this one does stink! No one wanted it because the last guy to use it was the K-9 Officer. And unfortunaly he wasn't too diligent in keeping said K-9 Clean! And to make matters worse it wold cost city around $500.00 to clean it profesionaly! So my hubby thought it was a great car if only it didn't stink so bad! Well he decided he would clean it himself if it was his car and they gave it to him! It almost smell good now! Atleast it smells alot better! LOL! I got electricity a few days ago but only got my cable today. Which means I also now have Home phone and internet today! Happy, happy, joy,joy! My cell unfortunately has like 90minutes and ofcourse everyone calls and asks if I'm alright which wouldn't be so bad if they just asked that one question and said good bye! But everyone has news to tell you and wants details and I have very little voice that is kind of painful to my head and throat to speak! My daughter-n-law was affended when I reminded her that my minutes were running out and I would have to go out to the car to charge my phone if the battery ran down before we get electricity back! And the car would be hotter than the house and I wouldn't want to turn AC on and waste gas when even if I could find a station open it costs too much! And anyway I still don't have free long distance to call her back to explain to her that I would love to sit and chat with her any other time and sorry if she got her feelings hurt. But as soon as she is on line I can chat free and in the comfort of my home and spare my squeeky voice that is trying to come back! Oh and wouldn't you know that after I wash panties and manties by hand the electric decided to come on! Oh well I'll live. It could have been worse, I was about to consider washing my hubby's uniform by hand and that would have been painful to my arthritic hands! And if that wasn't bad enough I started to feel so down and droopy that I was loosing my appetite and just didn't want to do anything! Not that there was much I could do! The only thing I could do was read a book while I waited for the weather to clear up. Which is a great way to forget about your troubles when you can't do anything about them. But this time when that was all I could do and I tried to read I was finding it difficult with the low grade fever that was making my eyes burn and the cough made my head hurt! So mostly I just daydreamed about AC and cable coming back on and how mush times like these make you appreciate them so much more! And now I'm waiting to see if IKE is going to take it all away again! Praying all my friends are safe, happy and pain free!
