Writing therapy.
I’ve heard that when you’re mad/sad or feeling whatever it may be – to write a letter to the particular person that upset you, then rip it up and throw it away. Get it all out and then move on. So that is what I am doing with these lovely text messages I got yesterday from my stbx husband. Since I refuse to respond to any of his texts/calls, I need to get some things off my chest. So I decided my journal is the best place. Here you will find the text received, then my response that he will never read.
#1. Why do you always ruin all my memories? Why? I’m not a DOG, each time you throw me out like a piece of S***, do you think you are going to settle things like that? How do you see the future? How?
Blame, blame, blame. Where is YOUR responsibility in all of this? Do you think I just up and left because I was happy with our situation? No. You straight up attacked me, pushed me down, spit in my face, called me all sorts of names, and pulled my hair – in front of our little baby – all because I talked back to you when you wouldn’t stop complaining about what I made for dinner, you big f***king baby! You’re right – you’re not a dog. Dogs are caring beings that provide warmth and love – you are just a narcissistic manipulator who only sees the world revolving around him. I see the future very bright right now, thankyouverymuch. It includes me being treated like a decent person and our child growing up in a stable environment!
#2. Every time I go out I have to hide or escape for people not to see me, I can’t stand hearing a baby cry or see them in a stroller.
Well, too bad for you. Waaaah. You should have treated me better and we wouldn’t be in this predicament!
#3. You are there with your mom, you stroll around together and go out to eat and you’re having fun and I am not well.
Again, poor you. And for the record we aren’t just “strolling” around – we have been apartment hunting and trying to get things settled, which is pretty difficult when you are in a brand new city that you’ve never lived in before, not to mention my Mom doesn’t even speak the language here. I don’t exactly consider that “having fun”. And… again… why are we in this mess? *I* should be the one wallowing in self pity because YOU put us in this situation. NOT the other way around!
#4. Have fun with your mom, I’m not against it, but I want news to give to her grandmother (his mom) as well, she is also a human being, she was there since (baby’s name) was born… but how are you going to handle this later on? Are you even thinking about the future? No one will forget (baby’s name) and we are going to do EVERYTHING so that she sees her dad again.
Oh, gee, thanks – you are giving me permission to “have fun” with my Mom? I didn’t realize I needed that consent in the first place… I am an adult that is perfectly capable of making her own decisions. I never said that our child would never see her grandmother or your side of the family but given they all live in another country that requires a visa to come here, their contact will be limited. But that’s not my problem. Yes, your mom was there from her birth but I never even had the choice! I would have preferred my OWN mother there with me, but NO your family always took priority. My mother had to wait until your mother left before she could come and see our baby. Also, I never said that you will NEVER see our baby again, so stop acting so melodramatic! As I mentioned plenty of times before – the judge will decide for us who gets to see her and when! And you better be damn sure that those visits will be supervised!
All I can say is GET. OVER. YOURSELF.
I feel better now.

I absolutely agree with you. You are capable of making your own decisions, and he tried to take that right away from you.
Congrats on getting it back! I hope life just keeps on getting better and better for you and your baby. I know how it feels when your spouse`s family always seems to take priority. That is certainly not how it should be.
(((HUGS))) and keep going! Glad this vent made you feel better :) xxx
