Wrestling with shyness and social aniexty
Work at the child care: It has not been easy there but I sure am learning a lot about myself and I am trying out new behaviour. First of all I have told my supervisor how I honestly feel about the addition of extra work without additional support. It is quite new for me to speak up to someone of authority so bluntly but I am doing it and it feels very good. I did the same thing with the consultant from children services I hold her exactly how I am about the new assignment coming up. It was very scary and I was more "out of it" with anxiety but I am glad I spoke up!! Since I did so the new assignment will not be officially starting until the fall and I willbe receiving help preparing for it. New job: My current job is par-time. I would like to make more money to make it morecomfortable for me and my family. I would also like to be able to buy a car etc..I am having a lot of anxiety about going for interviews etc... Letting my currentboss down if I quit working there to take another job and making a big mistaketaking a new job[being laid off or fired]. My goal is to start tackling all this in April. What a mess!!! Relationships with others: Although I have some issues with the people in my life, I have been keeping to my goal of "live and let live". I still feel a lot of changing emotions and my thoughts sometimes go negative but not for long. I keep returning to the present moment, to calm and satisfied states and even happy states of existence!!! Wishing everyone peace and happiness!!!

Good on you for letting your boss and your consultant know how you\'re feeling and that you need support. such wonderful progress. :-) Looks like your \'life and let live\' goal seems to be working very well. Don\'t worry about feeling bad for your current boss if you go take another job, this happens all the time, bosses expect staff turnover, and should understand that you need to do what\'s best for *you*.
I hope you\'re having a lovely weekend :-) x
You are where you are supposed to be. Good for you that your eyes are open and you are learning more about who you really are!
OOOh I know this work..I am doing it as well. Big Hugs for taking those steps to voice your experience! Returning to the present is always a challenge but it is getting much easier for me. Cheers to all efforts towards healing. LUV pageo
You are doing so well. You\'re making great progress, Ida. Having been shy and socially anxious, I know what you\'re going through. We all need to stand our ground for our own sake. Don\'t worry about what your boss will think. That\'s all in the future anyway. You\'re becoming more assetive! You\'re growing chesticles! lol. Really big hugs to you. Oli
Great job with speaking up for yourself. That is the positive charge from assertiveness that you are experiencing. I have worked in the same place for half my life. I think I would dread going on interviews right now. I know you will do just fine though. Just follow your in the now positive focus thing that has been working so well for you. Glad to see your goal is at 80%....you can accomplish any goal....if you stick to it.
I too am dealing with anxiety about speaking up to boss. Thanks for the inspiration. Way to go!
