WOW! Spring has Sprung with a Vengence!

Finally, it feels like SPRING on the farm!  I have a wild bed of Columbine which I thought had totally died out when we landscaped two springs ago.  Well, it is EVERYWHERE in that bed (along with grass that needs to be pulled).  One has thrown up a flower shoot, so it really did live!  The only thing that seems to have died was the polkweed... I loved that unruly plant even though it was only a weed.  It used to get soooo big, it fell over.  I suspect Guy pulled out the roots last fall when he cut it down.   I have also learned that the plant that grew there before was a biannual.  I was sad that it never came back.  I also have a really wild climatis in that bed.  I really like the unruly look and I hope the man doesn't get a Virgoian stick up his butt and wreck it!  Order is good to a certain extent, but I love the wildness of not totally manicured flower beds that do whatever the hell they want to do!  My vegetable garden is a great deal more organized so maybe my little crazy self needs some wildness happening elsewhere.  I'm also happy to report that I didn't kill my hostas.  Everything has just been so slow this spring.  I finally cut some daffodils, also an unruly survivor in the crazy columbine bed.  I'm definitely going to plant more bulbs this fall, and maybe even some flower bulbs yet this spring, if you all don't think it's too late.  I suspect it is not as I planted gladiolas about this time last spring.  We'll have to see what I can find cheap at the Wal...  Oh, and an update on the tomatoes plants I thought I killed in case I haven't told you all.  Many survived and are flourishing (sp?).  Something to be said for heirloom plants; survival is why they are still on this planet.  That's all for now.  Oh!  And Guy has a line on "chicken coop castoffs" which will save me buying feeders and waterers and such!  That's a really good thing as I've not quite gotten that far...  PS:   I forgot, we have new grass growing around the chicken coop!  I'm sure they will wreck it eventually, but at least, we start with GRASS not mud...

Hi Tomato plants! my Tomato plants say hi! We\'re all so very happy you all survived! :) Cj, i am currently trying to save my brother\'s tomato plants. they are showing signs of life. He bought them a day before we got back to back frosts about 2 weeks ago, and they didn\'t look good, but are beginning to turn around, in a positive way, and are showing life. :) i am so very happy and excited! :)

Hi Girl,

Wow you have been out and about and also sounds like you have been so very busy. I love those flower beds that things just pop up everywhere and go crazy, but you know me.

You are going to have more veggies then you will know what to do with. Can\'t wait for the chickies to arrive. Need to see how we are coming on the names.

Feeling a little better today. Tomorrow is last treatment so HURRAH!! Just been making me sleep all the time so it is stripping the dickins out of me which may be good. So I just been sleeping letting Bob take care of me. Sorry I couldn\'t talk yesterday. I was completly crashed and just could not wake up for nothing or no one. giggles

Hope you are doing good and we can talk again soon. Miss you and everyone. Love you!!
