Wow - it just keeps coming
Two appointments for Dad today - one on my lunch hour at the funeral home to set up his burial trust and other at VA to see if he qualifies for benefits to help pay for his Memory Care. Just before I was leaving for noon appointment, grandson called to ask me to stop by sporting goods store to buy a football girdle. I ran to the mall first to get that, then on to the funeral home, finalized the trust and wrote the check. Brought home a mountain of paperwork to fill out for VA. Memory Care called and said Dad's blood pressure dropped very low again and he was unresponsive for a bit even though he's not getting the meds. They called his doctor and they're going to hook him up to a blood pressure monitor and have the staff at memory care log what he's doing when the pressure drops. They set up an appointment next week but I can't go because we're taking our 9-year-old granddaughter camping over to Door County. The director said they'll either change the appointment to the following week or they'll see if one of their staff can go with Dad.
So, it was a very stressfull day again - ate both breakfast and lunch at my desk while I was working plus the two appointments and the news about Dad, so I really needed some stress relief. Came home, ran in pool 25 min., got out, put together foil packet dinners, put them on the grill, then ran another 15 min. Lunch was leftover grilled cod and veggies. DH went to Farmer's Market for me today, so the foil dinner packets ended up sort of Mediterranean type because of what he bought. We have eggplant, peppers, onions. garlic, zucchini, tomatoes, green beans, and chicken breast. I added some low sodium, fat free chicken broth, a little olive oil, some lemon juice, a little sea salt, some fresh ground pepper, and lots of fresh herbs from my herb garden. Must be almost done now, and I'm quite hungry. Then I need to get things organized for our vacation. Whew!
