Wounds...

We all know time heals all wounds. But how long does it take? With Isiah and Garrison both in heaven, I feel left alone even with an amazing husband and family. With Garrison birthday coming in a few days (July 23), all I can think about it why am I not planning his 1 year party?? Why is he in heaven (which is the best to be) but I wanna share in memories with him. I wanna be able to hold and cuddle and sing to him. I miss my baby. Happy Birthday Garrison.

I'm not sure that time does heal all wounds... What I have noticed about time and it's been nine years for me now since the loss of my son is that time is teaching me how to carry my loss and how to integrate it into my life now.

I don't think there is a mom here that can answer, "How long does this take?" I believe it takes a lifetime, yet in the midst is the paradox that in time somehow we learn how to live with this profound loss.

Angel days and birthdays are SO very tender and only another mother can possibly understand how they feel. Move into it as you, let the tears flow if they need to come, share your babies with us and know that they are forever remembered here as are YOU.

You should be planning a first birthday party. Please be so very kind and gentle with yourself and with those who love you. I'm not sure anyone understands how to truly BE with us??? Even I'm not sure how to BE with me at times too.

Gentle and loving care from Douglas and me to ALL of you,
XO Joanie
