Worseday

Dearest,
I did talk to you last night but this site lost it. We had 18” of new snow! With what’s on the ground now that’s about 30” down. Tonight it’s supposed to get down to 0°. That’s F not C! All the shoveling / snow blowing is finally done! My back hurts! Time for more snow!
Spent all day running from Lawyer to bank to bank calling David, e-mailing Nick, trying to get started on the estate settlement. Then at 4:00 I got the call “ send everything back, we have to start over” the court got the date wrong! I flipped out! This is not Chutes and Ladders, this is my life! What a bunch of fools! Nobody wants to do their job, nobody wants to show up for work. David is off until Monday, I called him on his cell, Monday the banks are closed, the courts too I assume. I may never get this done! All that driving, all that time, all that effort for nothing, it’s so annoying.
The grapefruits are “grapefruit” size and starting to turn yellow, I’m hoping that this is a good thing. The front walk is all ice again. I bought myself some of those maple creams that you used to buy me, every time I eat one I think about you and, I don’t seem to enjoy them so much. I guess I liked them mostly because you bought them for me. Did get my will redone, I’m going to have to have a sit down with Kristin about where every thing is. Your files are still as you left them, I updated with new statements of course. My files are the same mess that they were always in. I never even got around to doing the end of year stuff, it’s still on my list though.
I made a few calls to old friends today, Leora, Tamsin, Tim, etc. no one except Tim has gotten back yet. We had a nice chat, I got to catch up on all the gossip. Some people still haven’t heard what happened. I was remembering all the fun we had with those folks. We had, at minimum, a party a week to attend and the winters just flew by. Remember that Christmas that we rented the whole bar and staggered en masse over to the theater and staged “The Drunken Christmas Show”? Every one does, it was one for the books. Ken as Santa,. you and Tamsin as Victoria. We laughed till we cried, seems so sweet now, and so sad.
Till the curtain, Your Ken
