Worse asthma flare up I've ever had

I'm having such a hard time with this asthma flare up. It started at the beginning of May and hasn't let up. I started a prednisone taper on May 21st. The taper lasts until June 14th. I've been using saline in my nebulizer at least twice a day. I've been taking the maximum amount of symbicort. I've also been taking an expectorant syrup. The heat and humidity without an a/c are making me even worse. My airways are so sensitive that I can't be exposed to anything the least bit irritating. If I go outside in the pollen it's even worse. I can't clean, I can't really do much of anything except try to get rid of congestion and work on being able to breathe properly. Today, my chest and back hurt, I'm really short of breath and it feels like I'm breathing through syrup due to the congestion. I've been referred to a pulmonologist but since there's only one the wait is anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 years! When my pulmonologist sees me depends on how he views the seriousness of my situation. I will call next week or the week after to be put on a cancellation list. I just want to feel better!
