Worried about radiation.

Okay, the cooler weather is here.  40 degrees this morning.  Had to go outside to get warm.We are never happy with the weather.  Too hot, too cold, too windy, too still, too dry, too wet.It will be quieter, starting tomorrow.  School will be back in session.  It has been a quiet summer.  No kids banging basketballs at midnight.  No loud backyard pool parties.  No drunks passing the house at 2 AM, singing off key, no kids in boom cars out joyriding 'cause it's too hot to sleep.  Just the dogs barking at the wind.Where did the time go?  this year has gone faster than any of them.Well, the chemo doc said it is common practice to give radiation to women under 70 who get lumpectomies.  I told him I refuse to have it at his facility after the bang up job they did on Dad.  So, on the 10th, sister will take me to see another radiologist.   I am so nervous over this visit.  I still don't want the treatments.  I'll feel bad about sister losing a day of work if I do refuse them.  I fear the radiation destroying my ribs and lung, or giving me skin cancer.  Silly, maybe, but that is how I feel.

I enjoy the cooler weather too. It\'s lovely to have the windows and doors open (as long as it isn\'t noisy) to enjoy the cool weather. I think it\'s a good idea for you to see another radiologist. You need to feel confident and be comfortable with your medical team . Remember though to be open to their recommendations. I really think your fears are minimal. As always though, you have to do what you feel is right for you. Take care. Hugs to you, Chris
