Worked tonight: got paycheck

Well, I worked tonight, and last night, and tonight was paycheck night. $141 for 2 weeks.  They are started working the cashiers on stocking shelves, and something that they call "recovery", which is going around the store collecting things that people have misplaced or opened and fixing it, straightening things out or pushing items back towards the front of the shelf. I only work 4 hour shifts, and only one or two a week, usually, and I get home tired. I don't know why they have put me on the night shift, but I've been working 5:15 to 9:15 almost exclusively. Since it is only once or twice a week, and it is better than nothing, I'm okay with that, however, at minimum wage I'm not really earning much. Every little bit helps, and I'm establishing references and gaining experience, but sometimes I wonder if it is worth working this job at all when I come home this tired with so little. I've applied for another job in the area - an office job which would pay slightly more, probably put me on the day shift, which is preferable, and wouldn't exhaust me so much. But every job I've applied for up here over the last three years has bust - even when I manage to get an interview, rather than a rejection letter, it doesn't pan out.  I'm feeling a bit overused/underpaid and don't know if I should continue a job that doesn't even pay me more than I can get from welfare. But, I'm deep in debt and don't see a way out so working helps me to stay centered enough that I'm not sitting here just worrying about it. Goodnight.
