Work Happenings

For the first time in almost as long as I can recall, I was in a post-work social situation involving alcohol where I didn't partake. Several colleagues met for dinner and drinks (should be stated the other way around) after work. I purposely showed up late enough so as to minimize the social-drinking window - and then didn't order anything. I'm not going to take some huge heaping load of credit, as it was partially due to the fact that the waitress didn't come back much before dinner was served. Anyway, I had a couple glasses of water with dinner, and then excused myself to get home. I'm sure there were some there thinking "maybe he's not feeling well". Whatever the case - take the "w" when I can, I guess.

Here is an interesting thought . . . which may or may not be true in this situation. You were accutely aware that you didn\'t partake of alcohol. If you were to ask each person there what they recall you had to drink - I am willing to bet that few would even remember. You arrived late - and left early - that they may recall. But that you didn\'t have an alcoholic beverage after that - perhaps nobody but you even noticed. Just something to think about.
