wore my new brown crocs//guy fixed the light pole & gave me estimates//rescued kittens on deathrow
wore my new croc's - the brown ones, and they irritate the toe area where i have an old injury from when i worked in the law firm in nyc. looking back, i'm amazed at all the shit that law firm got away with...not as much shit as the lawfirm in south florida that stalks former employees for decades, but still a lot of shit! funny, because i was warned by headhunters and other firms about both places. things like, there is something wrong with that firm, don't work there. who knows what to believe though, people lie about other places and other people all the time. so you find out the hard way.
so for the passed 25 years i have pain and swelling from the foot injury from an accident there. a hole puncher, the big kind, fell on my foot from the top of a coat closet. could have been worse and fell on someone's head or in their face. those 3 prong things are heavy. the woman that shoved it there, got in trouble, but really doesn't help my foot. i should have filed for workers compensation on it (which i probably would never get anyway because its a corrupt law firm. are any lawfirms NOT corrupt? would love to see one of those. lol). i cut a hole in the side of the brown croc to make up for it. still hurts anyway. and now there is a blister and all that. grrrrr.
so this has become spend money week. the guy came over and fixed the light pole - put a second bracket on it and some white spray rustoleum. he gave me an estimate for the fence (he says the white plastic lattice is better than the white wood lattice? i have no opinion on it. whatever works.) and the thorn bush that needs to be dug up (have fixed BOTH before - fix all this stuff, after EVERY big storm every year, from the wind gusts) this time the bush root WITH weed killer "round-up" is coming out. it generally grows back somehow.
he says the minimum for the window by the utility room is $250 depending on if they replace or install a header beam (and the lack of beam is the reason there is a sag. is there a sag? i didn't notice actually. lol). i told him it was originally a garage. he says then the piece for the garage door is probably just a piece of metal that rotted. then he says part of the wood is from water rot because the sill should have been angled and it wasn't, so water accumulated, but the back piece of wood shows termite damage...but since this is a historical house, the damage could have occurred anytime in the passed 75 years OR it could have happened to the wood when it was lying around because 75 years ago there were no regulations for much of anything, people were supposed to KNOW practical things and use common sense.
today, no one knows much of anything practical because everything is done FOR them. whatever. i don't know about this stuff either. i think only a builder or carpenter would know it. this guy has two old houses himself that he either owns or maintains so he likes tinkering, but won't touch the window because too many other things can go wrong. then he says a lot of handymen are alcoholics/binge drinkers and even the painter guy (i need a painter for the deck, this guy doesn't want to paint) he uses at his house south of here is an alcoholic so its not safe to send him here...
then i'm thinking, how can anyone tell who is like that or not, for all i know as clean cut and tech school educated as this man appears, he could have been like that at some point himself, (you also have to be careful not to insult people and only say things that are politically correct) ... but i know what he means. the guy that used to clean our floors at the other house was like that, if he would drink, he'd knock on doors asking for money that was already paid to him weeks before so he could buy alcohol. then when straight, he would apologize. no one needs or wants that kind of drama.

mhd called to say if i didn\'t pick up by 5:00 they would put the kittens down. there is no place at alllll for kittens that are hissy. there are three. they are very scared. where is the mother? i didn\'t get to see the intake sheet for very long...i forgot to read it. we would take the mother. was she feral? they would just kill her. its their policy....
k always laughs over this because he says that every time they have one of his cats, the cat is in the back area with the ferals and never friendly to strangers. mine too.
the kittens let me scruff to move them, except for ONE. the one that was spitty, let rn pick him/her up. they are just scared. wherever they came from, they are well fed. so someone was feeding the mom? wish i\'d looked closer at the intake sheet.
My brother is a lawyer. I think it\'s pretty safe to say that they\'re all corrupt! Seriously......that\'s where all the lawyer jokes came from. Basically, they defend BAD people, and they do it, knowing these people ARE guilty!! How can they sleep at night? Obviously they are guilty for unimaginable lying and deceit! They justify it by saying that everyone is innocent until proven guilty and we all have a right to a defense. I agree with that. But if I knew my client was a murderer, I would not be able to defend him. It\'s just me, I guess.....
i agree. we were talking about the same thing this morning, but i was saying that alllll defence attorneys are criminals and that i have never met a criminal defense lawyer who isn\'t also a criminal himself. sickening. talk about a system that doesn\'t work at all, that would be usa. the court room is more of a game here, procedural game and then of course the stealing of evidence...its disgusting what goes on there. horrifying as well. we shouldn\'t be paying any money at all for a system that is that messed up.
