Woo almost one month!

On 26th day of sobriety! I cannot believe it. Time is going by so fast that I hardly count the days anymore. This week was terrible and really made me think wow it would be great to drink. But I didn't! I was doing wonderful with working out and loosing weight until in one day all hell breaks loose. On Tuesday morning my car wouldn't start (seemed like a dead battery) with no one around to jump it, I gathered my boys to walk my oldest to school since it is a half mile away. I slip on a patch of ice and land right on my foot. I hear a pop and think oh crap I broke it. We were right around the corner from our house but I had to get him to school so I hobbled all the way there and all the way back home. I cried my eyes out when I got home thinking for sure I won't be able to run again, I will gain a ton of weight, and I can't do anything! Then I began to worry that my car might have something worse wrong with it and then what am I going to do. I freak out for awhile and just try to take deep breaths and realize no matter what I will get through it. I go to the doctor that night and find out it is not broken just sprained. My husband gets home and jumps the car and it is just the battery. So i rest my sore foot for a few days and it actually feels good to not be running around. Then today I went to the gym and I am not able to run for awhile but I could do the eliptical and the spin bike with no pain so that's awesome. Today is warm out and that always makes me think of hanging out and drinking. Then there's St.Patrick's day on  Monday which I have always spent every year drinking all day. But if I was forgetting for a moment how bad it is for me to drink, my son snapped me back to reality by having this conversation with me the other day:
me: "mommy doesn't drink alcohol anymore, what do you think about that?"
son: "that's good because then you won't be drunk anymore"
me: "what do you remember about me being drunk?"
son: "I remember you yelling at daddy and saying bad words. Then you were crying too"
me: "I'm sorry you had to see that, it won't ever happen again. But what about when daddy get's drunk?"
son: "daddy doesn't get drunk!"
Ew! First of all I know what night he is talking about and no I don't remember it at all but I heard about it the next day. And his daddy is drinking all the time, but yes he is lucky and doesn't have a problem. So he never acted crazy in front of his son like I did and he always knows when to stop. It makes me feel terrible my son ever saw me drunk and I know for sure I never want my two year old to see that. Any idea of a drink just totally went down the drain!
