Wondering What My Friends Think
Got something I really need to hear what my friends think.
There are still 2 accounts left open relating to my dad. One is his regular credit union acct & the other is an estate account which I had to open to handle various funds that came in relating to "the estate of". We had been advised to leave his regular acct open until the end of the year just in case misc monetary matters came up & until the final income tax prep is done for him. I'll be having that done at the end of the year. As the eldest I'm the first contact person for the accts. I already am fully aware that over the past several months my sister Kim had accessed the acct for various reasons, some I agree with as in paying off final bills & such & some I never did agree with as in when they took possession of dads car & ownership was transferred to them & insurance was still going to come due they paid for it from dads acct. But being the passive person I am I thought OK fine, not worth getting bent out of shape abt, I have no desire for any money anyway, etc. etc. So Friday I got a statement fr the credit union & it appears there was a $257 withdrawl fr dads regular account. The balance left in the acct is only now abt $2500 some odd dollars. Again, the money is not the actual issue for me, I'm not greedy for money in any way but there is a side of me that feels I have the right to know what that transaction was for. So here's my thing - am I within my rights to question Kim abt this & find out what exactly is going on and/or what the money was taken for. I know that my friends here will be honest & will be the ones that can help me make some sense of this.
Well, hubby had his 6 month appt with the respiratory doctor. He will not be placed on home oxygen yet. As strange as this sounds it really surprised us in a way. We had felt that the time was coming when this would take place. He did some breathing test there & the doctor said the results were still abt 90%. He has been given a prescription for oxygen use while he's at the gym. That he was really happy abt because he's experienced being at the gym with oxygen & without & without he can only do maybe half of what he'd like to do. So he's looking forward to going to the gym & having the aid of oxygen while there. The dr explained to us that it's important to keep the body working & moving on it's own & for it not to become dependent any sooner then really necessary. He also explained that there are cases where you can give a person oxygen but the lungs are maybe not in shape to use it properly. He says he still appears quite stable at this point & two main issues are to continue to keep his weight under control & to keep moving in all ways possible. We both were so very surprised & pleased & we made sure we took a moment to thank out Lord for his intervention in this & we promised that we'll continue to strive to make him proud of the way we try to live our lifes.
On a funnier note - we are in the major deep freeze here & boy do I have little birdies coming to the diner as we call it for feeding. Jeepers do we have birdies. But I so love watching them. You know, it can be bitter, windy, snowy or whatever & they continue to sing their little hearts out. It's like they are just still rejoicing in their little lives. Kind of can make you think a bit. I've still got some squirrels that come for their dinners, not as many as throughout the warmer weather, but they still come. Here's a sign that we're getting way too weird and maybe soft hearted. We were joking abt either inviting them in to warm up a bit or I jokingly wondered if we should get them all little booties and muffs for their ears. Can you picture this. LOL LOL, I know I'm strange but oh well.

You are absolutely within your rights, as the eldest, to ask her about this! I certainly would. I think your dad would want you to ask too. So, yes, ask her to explain!
Great news about hubbie, so happy for you both.
Deep freeze? Uh oh, it must be coming this way. I have a bird feeder handing off of our gazebo but not ONE bird has shown up. Do you think it\'s too close to the frame? Any ideas? It needs to be somewhere we can view it and refill it with ease, right?

I would ask her about the funds, but I would personally do it in an agreeable way. It could be something very necessary, like a tax of some sort, or a tail-end fee ... we had a few of those that were unexpected. One was the footer for the tombstone. We thought that had been included earlier, and so on. Maybe you could also tell her that it would give you more peace if all expenses from that account be shared, so everything is out in the open and you all could avoid any sensitive issues. But that\'s just me.

We are frozen here too. Not as bad as you of course, but it has us feeling achy and the roads are very bad. We have lots of birds already too. And squirrels. We\'ve decided to just feed them all. : ) xoxo
Yes Pat I agree with checking into the money issue. Not fair if she is taking with out explaing what\'s it is for.

When my mom passed I was her medical advocate and responsible for her estate. I am the youngest child, this did not go over well with my oldest sister and our relationship is still tense. So my advise there......If your sister is in the same area as you, perhaps require your signature on any and all transactions AND tell sissy that in order to plan, execute and wrap up your dad\'s estate you need to know exactly what is taking place. There\'s my 2 cents on that.
Wonderful that hubby is free from oxygen. My granddaughter has lung issues from being born premature. When she has to go on the oxygen it is VERY hard to get her off, her body just loves loves loves not having to work for it, sweet girl.
You are silly woman with your birdie winter wear! I think of Sleeping Beauty when she is singing with all the little birds and they come help her with her chores :) hahaha
