Wonderful New Year? Right...
On 1/2, the girl went into the hospital, during a blizzard, and beyond my control. She went to her therapist and told her that she was suicidal in order to be admitted to the hospital.
She is not suicidal, however, they admitted her - beyond my consent, and she spent a week in the lockdown unit.
It is for the best, however, She now has to do 2-3 weeks of "partial" committment, and my mother is also trying to come home from the nursing home.
As I have to devote 100% of my time to either of them, I cannot do both. I'm in the process of filling out the forms to get my mother on Medicaid, which is not an easy process, and arranging for the pay-down of her remaining money so that she qualifies.
She is going to have to stay in the nursing home, because she takes too much care and supervision for me to do by myself while devoting the same sort of attention to my daughter.
Neither of my brothers is willing or able to contribute any effort to this, so it is up to me, and I will not do it.
This is no life for someone with my temperament. I have held it together so far, however, I still have to deal with the school. I'm already getting irritated with them, because they want to have a meeting prior to readmitting her to school, rather than taking the paperwork from the hospital.
The school has assigned themselves job titles like "social worker" and "case manager", and "child advocate", but really, these people seem more interested in the concerns of the school rather than those of my daughter. I am not amused.
Dealing with this disaster of a daughter and mother is hard enough, but you add these obviously unqualified individuals who are not interested in their welfare as much as they need to be is horrifying!
I don't know how I come up with the strength for either, but my brother is totally incapable of dealing with any of my mother's issues and has left it all up to me and it is TOO MUCH!
